We have been living here for over 3 years now, and this is the first time we have put up lights outside. It does not feel like winter around here, and it seems a little odd to be listening to Christmas music and put up lights without any snow on the ground. The grass is actually greener now than it was in September. The weather was so nice this weekend that there was no excuse for not getting our house numbers up.
I used the same type of post that we used for the new railing, and set it in the ground with a bag of quickcrete. Speaking of the new railing, the FedEx guy complimented us on the railing yesterday. Apparently, he did not have very fond memories of the last one. I don’t blame him.
While we were outside, why not replace that old rusty light by the side door.
Three trips to Menards and several hours later…
A definite improvement on the rusty before version! Now I just need to install a new storm door and give that steel entry door a coat of red paint–spring projects. It was a productive weekend. We got a few things done inside as well. I will have to share those tomorrow. Anyone else out there using this unseasonably warm weather to get some outdoor projects done?
