Flea Market Finds

Few things I found last weekend at the flea market:

Kitchen utensils–$15 total:  ice cream scoop $6, springed chopping device $5, noodle maker $3, and hand peel/grater $1. Can’t wait to add them to my collection. I’ll post a photo when I get around to it.

Rug for the living room. Mom found this for us. I don’t know what she paid for it, but I know it wasn’t very much. It does a a small cigarette burn on it somewhere, but it isn’t very visible.

Bedside candle holder–$5. LOVE. Have been wanting one of these for awhile. I was going to order a reproduction, but the real deal is so much better. This one has a ring handle and a moving lever that raises up as the candle burns down.

On the way back from the flea market we stopped at a few antique shops. I found the cutest little dresser in an antique  stop for $40 and I just couldn’t pass it up.  I’ll give you a sneak peek, but you will have to wait for the reveal of the guest bedroom to see it in all its glory.  I opened the drawer, and I knew I had to have it.

As much as I enjoy the company of a feline or two, this is a bit extreme.  I’ll have to find something to replace the lining–maybe some leftover wallpaper from the kitchen and bathroom, or maybe i’ll find something new. It is solid wood and has dovetail drawers which is very important in a sturdy dresser. The drawers actually slide very nicely, which is not always the case in old dressers like these. Someone has recently refinished this beauty and made a couple repairs as needed. Sadly, it no longer has the original pulls, but I can’t complain for $40.  Similar dressers on craigslist for going for at least double.

What do you think of my new toys?  There is another flea market Labor Day weekend, anyone want to go?
